💭 FAITH REFLECTION — Nothing Is Lost With Allah
We live in a world where injustice is everywhere. A harsh word that went unanswered. A right that was taken and never returned. A wrong that was committed in plain sight for the whole world to see and nothing happened. No apology. No accountability. No justice.
If we’re honest, sometimes that weighs on us. It can make us bitter. It can make us question. But here is what our deen reminds us, again and again: nothing is lost with Allah.
"We will set up the scales of justice for the Day of Resurrection, so no soul will be wronged in anything. And if there is the weight of a mustard seed, We will bring it forth. And sufficient are We as accountants." (Al-Anbiya: 47)
A mustard seed. The smallest, most insignificant unit of measure the human mind can imagine, and Allah says even that will be accounted for. Every tear that fell in private. Every right that was denied. Every cruelty that went unchecked in this world. Allah saw it. Allah recorded it. And on the Day of Judgement, the Most Just will settle every account with perfect precision.
The Prophet ﷺ warned us about this with a question that stopped the companions in their tracks: "Do you know who the bankrupt person is?" They said it was someone with no money or possessions. He said: "The bankrupt person of my ummah is the one who comes on the Day of Resurrection with prayer, fasting, and charity, but also with having insulted someone, slandered someone, consumed someone's wealth, and shed someone's blood. His good deeds will be given to his victims, and if his good deeds run out before justice is served, their sins will be thrown onto him and he will be cast into the Fire." (Muslim)
That is the perfect justice of Allah. Not a single soul will be shortchanged.
This week's action: The next time you witness or experience an injustice; whether it's something done to you, something you see in the news, or something happening in your own community, pause for just a moment and say: "Allah is Al-Adl. The Most Just. Nothing escapes Him." Let that truth settle in your heart before frustration or despair takes over. Also, take a few minutes this week to make sincere istighfar for any injustice you may have committed, intentionally or unknowingly. A right you didn't fulfill. A person you may have hurt without realizing it. A promise that slipped through the cracks. We are all human, and we will all stand before Allah. The most merciful thing we can do for ourselves is ask for His forgiveness before that day arrives.
