🌿Assalamu Alaikum, Dallas!

We're back with another packed issue and this week it's all about the things that matter most — our children, our community, and taking care of ourselves. We're spotlighting Rising Stars Academy in Richardson, an Islamic early childhood school that is doing something truly special for our little ones from infancy through 3rd grade. We also found your new favorite late-night spot: Filli Cafe has officially arrived in Carrollton, and their famous Zafran Chai alone is worth the trip. Tonight there are two great options — a faith-centered parenting series at IANT for the moms and dads, and a community night at ICF on how we spend our time. And the weekend gets even better from there with a mental health workshop, a community garage sale, a cake pop competition for sisters, and a beautiful outdoor potluck picnic under the stars on Sunday. Let's get into it! 🌿

💭FAITH REFLECTION — The Easiest Path Away From the Fire

The Prophet ﷺ once turned to his companions and asked a question that must have stopped them in their tracks:

"Shall I not tell you of one for whom Hellfire is forbidden?"

Every ear in the room must have leaned in. And then he answered:

"It is everyone who is accessible, polite, and easy-going." (Tirmidhi, 2488)

No mention of a specific number of prayers. No extraordinary feat of worship. Three qualities — and Hellfire is forbidden for the person who embodies them. That is not a small promise. That is one of the most generous offers in all of the Sunnah.

Let's sit with each one for a moment.

Accessible (Qarīb) — You are warm and approachable. People don't feel nervous coming to you. You don't give off an energy that pushes others away. Your presence makes people feel welcome rather than judged.

Polite and Mild (Hayyin / Layyin) — You are gentle in your speech and calm in your reactions. You don't snap. You don't lecture. You don't make people feel small. When someone wrongs you, your first instinct isn't to retaliate — it's to respond with dignity.

Easy-going (Sahl) — You don't make things harder than they need to be. You are flexible. You give people the benefit of the doubt. You accommodate. You don't create unnecessary friction in your relationships, your community, or your home.

Now ask yourself honestly — how much of the tension in our ummah today comes from the opposite of these three qualities? How many friendships have fractured, how many communities have split, how many family dinners have ended in silence because someone was unapproachable, harsh, or inflexible?

The Prophet ﷺ didn't just describe three nice personality traits. He described the glue that holds communities together. When we are accessible to each other, we build trust. When we are mild with each other, we build safety. When we are easy-going with each other, we build unity. And a united ummah is an ummah that is difficult to break.

This week's action: Pick one of these three qualities and make it your intentional focus this week. Are you easy to approach, or do people hesitate before coming to you? Are you gentle in your words, or do you lead with sharpness? Are you flexible with the people in your life, or do you make things more complicated than they need to be? Choose one, work on it genuinely, and watch what it does to your relationships. The Prophet ﷺ didn't say these qualities are easy — he said they are worth everything.

❝ "Whoever is kind, affable, and easy-going — Allah will forbid him from entering Hellfire." (Al-Bayhaqi) 🤍

BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT

🌟 Rising Stars Academy

Where Little Muslims Learn to Love Knowledge and Faith

Every Muslim parent shares the same deep hope — that their child will grow up grounded in their deen, confident in their identity, and ready to thrive in the world. Rising Stars Academy in Richardson was built to make that hope a reality. A MAS Dallas project and ISLA member, RSA is an Islamic early childhood academy serving children from infancy all the way through 3rd grade, and it has quickly earned a 4.9-star rating from a community of parents who describe it in one word: family. From the moment you walk through the doors, the atmosphere tells you something different is happening here. As one parent put it: "From the moment we walk in, we feel like part of a family." Another shared: "You can't put a price on the feeling of comfort you have knowing your kids are in a safe and loving environment when you are away from them." That comfort is not accidental — it is the mission.

What truly sets Rising Stars Academy apart is their signature Quran Blossom program, a dedicated, immersive Arabic and Quranic learning experience for children ages 3 and up. These aren't just a few Islamic phrases sprinkled into a regular curriculum. Quran Blossom features entirely separate classrooms with Arabic word walls, interactive centers, hands-on activities, and instruction, all conducted in Arabic. Children build genuine Quranic literacy and a love for the Book of Allah from their earliest years, laying a spiritual foundation that stays with them for life. The core academic program weaves state curriculum together with Islamic values, daily duas, and akhlaq — nurturing the whole child academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. With programs for infants, toddlers, Pre-K 2s, 3s, and 4s, and early elementary, RSA meets your child wherever they are and grows with them.
