The Weekend: 🏀 3v3 Basketball, Stories of the Prophets, & Much More📖

We made it to the weekend, Dallas! 🌤 After a week of “Do I even need AC or not?” weather confusion, the sun seems to have made up its mind—and it’s hot. Again.

But just like the Texas skies, our community calendar is heating up too: events, classes, and one very special date on the Islamic calendar coming up… yep, Ashoura is tomorrow!

REFLECTION

The Power of Ashoura

The Day of Ashoura (10th of Muharram) isn't just a historical marker—it’s a spiritual opportunity. When the Prophet ﷺ arrived in Madinah, he found the Jews fasting on this day in remembrance of Allah saving Musa (AS) and his people. He ﷺ responded, “We are more entitled to Musa than them,” and encouraged us to fast as well.

Action:
Fast on Ashoura (10th Muharram), and if you can, pair it with the 11th for added reward. Fasting this day wipes out the sins of the past year—yes, you read that right. (Sahih Muslim)
Make a niyyah, prep your suhoor, and invite a friend to join you for iftar!
