Amir Omar has been elected as the new mayor of Richardson, Texas, defeating incumbent Bob Dubey with 55% of the vote in the May 3, 2025 election. Omar's victory marks a significant milestone, as he becomes the first Muslim and the first American of Iranian and Palestinian descent to hold the mayoral office in Richardson. 🌌 Starbase, Texas: Elon Musk’s Rocket Town Becomes Official
The area surrounding SpaceX's launch site near Boca Chica is now officially the city of Starbase, Texas.
