Assalamu Alaikum, Dallas!

This week we're spotlighting Amanda Burton of Massage and Renew of East Plano, a licensed therapist and Hijama practitioner who's been quietly taking care of our community one session at a time. We also found a new favorite halal comfort food craving — Krispy Krunchy Chicken in Plano, and it delivers. And the weekend? From a sisters' hike at sunrise to a Qurbani planning day and a late-night Qiyam for the youth, there's something for every member of the family.

💭 FAITH REFLECTION — Planting Seeds in the Silence

We often think that progress only counts when it’s loud—when we’ve hit a milestone, finished a project, or shared a big update. But some of the most profound growth in our faith happens in the quiet, "unseen" moments where it feels like nothing is moving at all.

Think of a seed beneath the soil. To the naked eye, there is no life, no color, and no movement. But in that darkness, the roots are stretching deep, preparing the foundation for the bloom that everyone eventually sees.

"And He is the One Who sends down the rain after they had despaired, and spreads His mercy..." (Ash-Shura: 28)

Sometimes, we feel spiritual "despair" because we don't see immediate results from our prayers or our efforts. But Allah’s mercy is often working in the background, strengthening our hearts in the silence. Your consistency in the small things—your morning dhikr, your patience with a difficult neighbor, your honest work—is the root system for the person you are becoming.

This week’s action: Identify one "hidden" habit you want to cultivate this week—something no one else will see or praise you for. Maybe it’s making a specific du’a for someone who hurt you, or keeping your tongue moist with Astaghfirullah during your DFW commute. Plant that seed in the silence and trust Allah with the growth.

"The most beloved of deeds to Allah are those that are most consistent, even if they are small." (Sahih Bukhari)

Massage and Renew of East Plano

Where Healing Meets the Sunnah

If you've been carrying the weight of a long week in your shoulders, your back, or honestly just your spirit — Amanda Burton might be exactly who you need. A licensed massage therapist with over 10 years of experience, Amanda has built something quietly special out of her East Plano studio: a place where modern massage therapy and traditional Hijama cupping come together under one caring set of hands. She's been practicing Hijama since 2015, and the Dallas Muslim community has noticed — her Google reviews are filled with names you'd recognize from the masjid, and a perfect 5-star rating to match.

What makes Amanda's approach different is the personalization. She doesn't do cookie-cutter sessions. Whether you need deep tissue work, lymphatic drainage, aromatherapy, or a full Hijama session, she tailors every visit to what your body actually needs that day. One client put it simply: "She is amazing (Masha'Allah) — her personality makes the whole experience so much more enjoyable." Another has been sending her daughter regularly for years. When the Muslim community trusts you with their family, that says everything. If you've been putting off taking care of yourself — this is your sign.
