🌿Assalamu Alaikum, Dallas!

This week's issue has a little bit of everything: we're spotlighting Arranged by Imanne, the Dallas florist whose flower carts are turning ordinary events into unforgettable ones, and we found a halal dinner pick that's a genuine change of pace — Rokhat Grill, an Uzbek spot in Plano serving handmade Central Asian food that tastes like it was flown in from somewhere far away. The weekend is loaded with a blood drive, a teens scavenger hunt, a sisters' picnic and paint, and even a World Cup watch party for the high schoolers. As we step into this new Islamic year, may it be one filled with sincerity, growth, and renewed purpose. 🌙

💭 FAITH REFLECTION — A New Year, A Renewed Niyyah

This week marks the beginning a New Islamic year with the arrival of Muharram. There's no countdown, no fireworks, no resolutions shouted from rooftops. Just a quiet shift on the calendar, easy to miss if you're not paying attention.

But for a believer, a new year is an invitation. A chance to ask the question that gets buried under the noise of daily life: why am I actually doing all of this? What’s my true purpose?

"And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me." (Adh-Dhariyat: 56)

The difference between a life that drifts and a life that's anchored is not what you do, but why you do it. Your job, the errands, the parenting, the small kindnesses, the big decisions can all be worship, if the intention behind it is sincere.

The Prophet ﷺ taught us: "Actions are judged by intentions." (Bukhari & Muslim) One hadith giving us an entire framework for living.

This week's action: As the new year begins, take a few quiet minutes to revisit your niyyah for the things you do every single day — your work, your relationships, your worship, even your rest. Ask Allah to purify your intentions and renew your ikhlas. Not a resolution list. Just a return to why.

"Say: Indeed, my prayer, my rites of sacrifice, my living and my dying are for Allah, Lord of the worlds." (Al-An'am: 162) 🌙

BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT

Arranged by Imanne

Where Every Event Blooms

Meet Imanne, the Dallas-based florist behind Arranged by Imanne, who's been quietly making events across DFW feel a little more special, one bouquet at a time. Though she's only been doing florals for about six months, her appreciation for the craft grows every day. "I love taking on new projects and challenges to bring my clients' visions to life," she shares. "My favorite part of my business is getting the chance to work with so many beautiful flowers and be amazed at Allah's creation. I often think — if this flower is this beautiful, imagine the flowers of Jannah." Beyond standard event florals, Imanne offers something truly unique: a flower cart service that doubles as both an activity and a party favor. Guests get to build their own bouquets from a fully stocked cart — flowers, holders, ribbon, and more — tailored to your event's theme. Want it hands-off? Request an on-site attendant to wrap bouquets for your guests. Want to go all out? Add custom stickers, ribbons, or cart signage.

What really stands out, though, is the heart behind the business. One client described Imanne as one of the sweetest, most patient florists they've ever worked with — someone who stayed flexible through last-minute changes, ensured every single flower (down to the smallest one) was fresh and perfectly arranged, and showed up early and ready, every time. From birthdays to graduation parties to bridal showers, the flower cart works for every stage of life and gives guests something to actually take home from your event. As one happy client put it: "She made my party bloom from the moment she stepped in."

Perot Museum — Soccer: More Than a Game
This is probably the cleanest “place to go” pick this week, especially with North Texas already in soccer mode. The exhibit is open through September 7 and is built around hands-on science, movement, technology, and interactive challenges, which makes it a much easier sell for kids than a museum trip that feels too passive.

👪 Great for families, especially soccer-loving kids
