🌿Assalamu Alaikum, Dallas!

We're coming to you with a weekend lineup that honestly has something for every single person in your household — from the high schoolers to the little ones to the brothers looking for fresh air and brotherhood. Tonight alone gives you two great choices: high school students can head to MAS Dallas for a beautiful open mic night honoring the Prophet ﷺ with poems, nasheeds, and student performances, while the sisters can channel their inner detective at VRIC's Escape Room Game Night in The Colony. We also found your new favorite spot for a weekend brunch or a cozy catch-up — Noorsha Cafe & Bakery in Richardson with authentic Turkish baking, 100% halal, and the kind of warm atmosphere that makes you want to stay for hours. No business spotlight this week, but we'll be back with a great one next Friday. If you’ve got a business recommendation, please let us know by replying to this email. 🌿

💭 FAITH REFLECTION — How to Make Your Blessings Grow

Have you ever noticed that some people seem to do so much with so little while others have abundance and still feel like it's never enough? The difference, more often than not, comes down to one word: barakah.

Barakah is not just "blessing" in the way we casually use the word. It is divine increase, the quality that makes a small amount of time feel expansive, a modest meal feel satisfying, a limited income feel sufficient, and a little act of kindness ripple further than you could have imagined. It is Allah's hand in your affairs, multiplying what you have in ways that defy ordinary math.

And the beautiful thing about barakah? It is not random. It is invited.

"And if only the people of the cities had believed and feared Allah, We would have opened upon them blessings from the heaven and the earth." (Al-A'raf: 96)

The scholars of tafseer explain that this ayah is not just about ancient communities, it is a living principle. Taqwa and sincere faith are among the greatest keys to unlocking barakah in every area of our lives. But there are other doors too, and the Prophet ﷺ showed us exactly where they are.

Saying Bismillah before eating, working, and beginning any task invites Allah's blessing into that action. The Prophet ﷺ said: "Any matter of importance that does not begin with Bismillah is cut off from barakah." (Abu Dawood)

Shukr — genuine gratitude — is perhaps the most powerful barakah multiplier of all. "If you are grateful, I will surely increase you." (Ibrahim: 7) Gratitude is a guarantee.

Sadaqah does not decrease wealth — it increases it. "Allah does not decrease wealth because of charity." (Muslim) Every dollar given in the way of Allah comes back multiplied in ways seen and unseen.

Silat al-rahm — maintaining family ties — the Prophet ﷺ explicitly connected this to expanded rizq and a longer, more blessed life. “Whoever wishes that his provision be increased and his lifespan be extended, let him maintain his ties of kinship. “(Sahih Al-Bukhari & Sahih Muslim)

Waking for Fajr — scholars throughout history have noted that the early morning hours carry barakah that the rest of the day simply does not. Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
“O Allah, bless my Ummah in their early hours of the morning (i.e., what they do early in the morning).” Sunan Ibn Majah

This week's action: Choose two barakah practices to be intentional about this week — one that invites barakah into your time (Bismillah before tasks, Fajr on time) and one that invites barakah into your wealth or relationships (sadaqah, calling a family member you've been meaning to reach). Don't wait for more time or more money before you start. Barakah is what turns what you already have into more than enough.
